How to navigate the Photo Monitoring page:  The diagram shows a map of The Island and the letters A to G are the positions where the photographs were taken.  The numbers in red arrows show the directions the photographs were taken.  Clicking on any of the red boxes takes you to a series of images taken over the years from that viewpoint.  Click on the 'Return to Photo Monitoring Map' button to return to this page.

In 1999 a long-term project was started to take photographs from 7 points on The Island looking in defined directions.  The aim was to repeat the exercise every few years so that over a period of time we'd build up a picture of how The Island's vegetation, tree cover and other features are changing.  This page shows the result to date - see the box below for details of how to view the photographs.
