Fish in the River Avon

 

No comprehensive survey of fish in the River Avon has been carried out.  However in May 2014 work was carried out to repair and maintain the weir.  To do this electro-fishing was carried out and the results are shown in the diagram below.

 

There were a total of 41 fish most of which were brown trout ; fewer 10 were eels and a small number may have been salmon.
